I am in debt and need help. What’s my first step?
No matter how large or small your debt problem is, we can help. The first step is often the hardest, but it’s worth it. Asking for help can be daunting, particularly for many of CAP’s clients who have reached a crisis point before calling to book an appointment. Our friendly New Enquiries team is the first port of call for clients. We’d love to listen to you and see how we can help get you started on your journey out of debt.
Start by searching your postcode or give us a call on 0800 328 0006.
Does it cost me anything?
No. Our service is completely free. We can provide a totally free service because CAP is a charity and receives donations from churches and individuals who want to help people.
Can CAP provide emergency support with food or fuel?
No, unfortunately we are unable to help with food or fuel. We advise contacting Trussell Trust who may be able to help you find a local food bank or other support.
I want to help someone I know, what can I do?
It can be really worrying when someone you care about is going through a difficult time. We understand that many people will speak to friends and family before they speak to a debt professional. Check if they live within the catchment area of a CAP Debt Centre using the postcode search finder on this page.
Do you have to be a Christian?
No. CAP will help anyone regardless of their religious beliefs.
We monitor our services to make sure that everybody receives the same caring service regardless of race, nationality, religion, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability.
What if there is no CAP centre in my area?
Don’t worry. Give us a call on 0800 328 0006 and one of our friendly New Enquiries team will be happy to talk through what other services may be able to help.
